Ear Wax

This was one of my first one-to-one patient encounters in my student attachment in general practice. I was nervous, trying to remember everything I had been told about the water temperature, the direction to point the large, stainless steel syringe and the importance of not soaking the patient. My hands were shaking as I drew up the first syringe of water, aimed it in the patient’s ear and began the procedure. (more…)
